Also for info, for a TD5 HZ switch, to get the little light in the button to illuminate you join the black/red wire with the orange/red wire. My 86reg 90 with original loom, the dark green wire had a small white rubber band marker on, this attaches to the White with green trace wire as Kev says.

Accelerating Away. Feb 28, 2011. #1. I'm planning on changing the front engine mounts on my '02 D2 TD5 soon as, following on from various forum advice / tips / roughness / vibration comments, I've checked the underside of them and can see that the rubber is contacting the metal cup (I gather there should be a 10mm vertical gap) on both of them.

The ould Disco is starting to break up! Our local main stealer has told us this morning that the cause of the misfire at 2500-3000 revs is "a magnetic field near the ECU which is causing oil to get into the harness and it needs both ECU and harness replaced" Total cost €730 plus labour (6 hours) VAT (21% over here) approx GBP 480 plus the
I hope somebody can help me solving my problem: after tuning my disco td5 (2004) it runs great but: when I am throttling up my enige is going to gallop, and will not easily shift to 2nd or 3rd gear (big black smoke out off the pipe) I have noticed that, when the outside temperture is becomming above 20 degrees, the galopping is becomming less more.
TD5 Thermostat Replacement hell!! You may get better access through the inner guard panel. Hello all. I am having problems fitting the new thermostat. I am unable to get a good grip with my large pliers to move the clip enough to get the thermostat on. This is the water pump part of the thermostat.

Most main dealer,s are liar,s and fobb of merchants. You,ve got to give that car a " clean slate " as far as your ownership of it goes, and this unfortunately means you

Hi all, Ive recently brought a 53 plate discovery td5 es. it has been sat for approximately 6 months now it won't start (brought as non runner) its on 130,000 miles. I've put a new battery on it which solved my immobiliser issue, but then only cranked not started. it did crank on easy start. I've now changed the injection loom
It's been over a year since we purchased our own 2.4 TDCi Duratorq 110 Defender and so far it's caused very few problems, the only jobs we've done are: Replaced the clutch (upgraded to the latest part number, see the video) Fitted a dog guard. Fitted a rad muff. Installed an Alpine radio. Carried out a Land Rover gear change technical bulletin.
Now look at this image (sorry for the poor quality): Look to the top left of the filter on this image, that shows the black piece going into the back left union and if a check valve is installed in this location it will stop diesel running back into the tank via the pump low pressure side (i.e. the fuel pickup). Common Faults: Land Rover TD5 Motorola ECM/ECU's will cause issues such as limited revs to below 2000 RPM, cutting out when driving and intermittent to complete non-start issues. When the ECM scanned with diagnostic equipment commonly logged fault codes include: 0128 - topside switch failed, 0135 through to 0138 - injectors 1 through to 5 Either defender or discovery, as they both have the same engine they will have some of the same problems in common ? Ideally a defender was in mind, my dad said his old td5 defender was hard work. He had two ecu's, all the injectors renewed, it has a sticky ingector on the third cylinder and if it got bellow 0 degrees he lost a lot of engine power. Since I bought my 1999 Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 I have had and intermittent fault with the ABS system. Occasionally the ABS, traction control and hill descent warning lights would illuminate for no apparent reason, these three lights have become affectionately know by Discovery owners as the ‘Three Amigos’. e6rsA.
