Long gone are the days of hitting the engine with a hammer when it won't start 🤣 You are also always going to need a Smart battery Charger (Maypole £25 available from Amazon), it's just a fact of life and the way car's are now designed in order to try and meet the emissions regulations.
Step 5 - Check The Engine. Another probable reason for why your car won't start and is making a fast click noise is a locked up or frozen engine. The lock problem can be solved by trying to kick off the engine manually with a breaker bar and wrench. In the case of a frozen engine, switch the car on and give the engine time to warm up gradually.
Hi all. My mondeo has started making a clicking/tapping sound when i turn a corner or if im in a stright line then turn left to right fast you can hear it. What could this be? I don't think its a cv joint as there are no splits or grease there. It is coming from the passenger side i think. I tried changing my track rod end and its not that. Here are the top 8 reasons why your car engine is making a rattling noise: 1. Low Engine Oil. Engine oil is used to keep components lubricated and prevent damage due to friction, and as the level drops, more metal-to-metal contact can occur which causes vibrations that translate into the telltale rattling sound. 26,005. taver91 answered 4 years ago. You say battery is good, but the clicking is a good sign that it is not providing sufficient voltage to start the car. Either have the battery checked or put a volt meter to it. It should read 12.5 Volts and there should be no corrosion on the terminals.

There is a small relay box behind the dash that holds 3 relays in it,the large one is a flasher the other 2 are small (black) one of these is the fuel pump relay.
6. Engine failure. In very rare cases, a seized engine can cause no start and clicking noise in Accord. In this case, the engine won’t crank and you will hear a single click from the starter solenoid when you try to start the engine. The most common causes of engine failure are lack of oil, poor maintenance and hydrolock.
Do nothing: Let the battery charge for a few minutes. Engage your Crown Victoria’s Starter: If it seems like it’s acting differently (flashing less or trying to start), adjust the jumper cable contacts and let it charge some more. Remove the jumper cables: Reverse the process. 3.
Mondeo Mk4 2.0 TDCI 163 Auto. Got a fault whereby when the brakes are applied there’s a clunking sound. Then, when you select reverse, start moving and then apply the brakes you get the same sound. Then, select drive, travel forward and then when you apply the brakes, same clunking sound. I’ve ha
i too just had this problem. My starter solonoid went out. out of the 3 items to replace first, start with the solonoid. its only $10. Also, like stated above, put a meter on the battery and have a friend try crank it over, watch the meter, it should drop only a couple of volts to crank it over, if its dropping a bunch like more thatn half(6+ volts) it is most likely the starter if it doesnt o1VoC.
